"Time sure does travel

fast when your having fun!"

Hello Hello! Well- this is my first blog post; Akakios here, and I am going to apologise for not posting earlierBut exams are very much evil. I also would like to warn everyone in advance; that when I write, I'm not one for many words. I'm more of a short and snappy girl~ and I do hope that this is perfectly fine with everyone who reads. But, On other notes, back to the real important things, there are two things I'm going to discuss today

As of tomorrow, for me, maybe its already the 14th for you. It's going to be exactly one month to Valentines day, so have you got you're gifts ready, got that special wolf, or person who you can gift? Of course, maybe a months a little early to be talking about Valentine's day, but some gifts need care, love and time, and honestly, sometimes don't you ever feel sorry for Valentine's day, I mean it's hardly as festive and as celebrated as other holidays, and we're celebrating love. Which is one of the most important things for many people and even animals. So we should talk about it nice and early and get our gifts ready.

I believe, that on Wolf Haven we should do something nice on Valentines day, like we do on Christmas, secret Santa, because love ranges more than just romance love. February should be another month of giving, what do you guys think? But then again, many people may think its too close to Christmas to be celebrating and giving again, but that's just my personal thoughts. Though I'd love to know what you guys think.

Now for the other topic; this is more closely related to Wolf Haven. I believe that there should be a limit to side accounts. Now~ Hold your horses before you make the judgements. I'm going to talk about both sides of the argument first.

Side accounts are a great way to make profits on Wolf Haven for some people, as some people can make art, some people can donate to the site and then some people have the time to level up accounts and sell them for high amounts of points or donations and this may be their only way to make some sort of profits on Wolf Haven and therefore the limit to side accounts may stop this, and many people may be unable to gain points or donations to spend on other items on Wolf Haven, or just hoard them, and this in turn may stop, or lesson the flow of points that we have going at the moment, and may cause a in fluctuation in points again, which we are only just recovering from. I don't know if any of you can remember back to when points meant nearly nothing, due to the sudden surge in amount of people who could afford them, and to be honest, I don't think many people would want to go back to that. As even though some people are moving away from Wolf Haven currency now and onto USD/ GBP, for those of us who still rely on points, it would be horrible and very annoying.

However~ I personally find it very annoying when people have so many side accounts, 10+ , although its understandable that you may have many characters that you may want to express, show of and role-play with, its very difficult to see how many people could manage that amount of accounts, with a lot of them becoming inactive and in some ways, 'blocking' up wolf haven. We have around 43,000+ members on Wolf Haven now, and have you ever stopped to wonder, 'How many of these accounts are new people' I have.

Now, don't take my word for anything, these are just my own thoughts!

Good Evening too all~
Love Aka!

  1. I love the Valentines Day idea. I would love to see more hearts flopping and flying through Wolf-Haven next month, for sure.

Though, I'm not sure I can entirely agree with your second discussion topic. While I do see your point, that some folks let their side accounts go inactive, and it does indeed bog down the site, I don't like the idea of limitations. People love to have their characters, because it's a form of expression in multiple ways. Forced to give up some of your characters for the sake of the sites rule? No thank you. Maybe go through and delete the ones that haven't been active for a certain time period, only.

    Nice first post though. ^-^

  2. The Valentine's idea would be great, save for it's a time of year when many people are in school so less would have time to participate. D: Guess that's why you're saying to start early!

It's an interesting idea to limit the number of side accounts, but yeah, not something I'd support. I have several characters, some of which I am active on at some times, and the others later, depending on my muse. You're right though, keeping them all active at the same time is damn near next to impossible.

And about Hylothe's idea, and I think I forgot to mention this on her blog post that said something, but I think deleting accounts is a terrible idea. To each his own, but I have never supported that. We have a couple deleted accounts (near the first few players), but I don't see it as an improvement. I love nothing more than when a member I haven't seen in two years randomly remembers WH and logs back on, maybe for a chat or maybe to be active again. Defining a time limit would be hard, unless you just say accounts that were never activated. I'd probably be fine with that. I do see the plus sides of having more names available and stuff, but meh, the idea in general doesn't tickle my fancy. I wouldn't be in uproar if it happened, just not my cup of tea. xD

  3. I would cry if I was limited in my characters... I can't do art, I am part of the site in order to write... to use my characters and create stories with them. If I was limited after putting effort and even money into them... it would make more sense for me to leave WH for a place where I could use the characters. Yeah, I don't log onto every character every day, but I damn sure cycle through once a week and then become more active while I have more role play requests... I would not mind a few accounts that I made and then never used being deleted, but I would want that to be on my terms, not someone else's choice...

I have more than 10 'side' accounts that are what I consider active, logged into at least once a week and open for role plays/active role plays going on. They are all distinctly different characters and I have them for a reason. I would also worry that this would eventually limit things on the art side (though I am no artist and could be wrong here), as far as people selling customs and art FOR those many characters... Just my own random musings on those suggestions. I definitely think accounts never activated could go, and there are a fair number of those out there too.
